#SignforElephants - 5 Minutes to Help Another Species!

Elephants are being slaughtered at a rate of 1 every 15 minutes to satisfy a global lust for ivory trinkets.  Yes, ivory trinkets.  The majestic, acutely aware, intelligent, and gentle titans of the earth are not only suffering greatly, but are being driven to extinction, to satisfy a petty greed for cold, hard ivory objects.

While it is true that China's demand for ivory is the central point of this extinction-driven trade, our house here in the USA is not clean either. We can not seriously give China the stink-eye while the illegal trade flows beautifully within our current set of laws, can we?

The USA has the largest domestic ivory market, second to China.  Current loopholes in our existing laws allow for freshly harvested ivory to be sold under the guise of "old" or "antique" ivory.   Because we can not tell (without destroying) old ivory from new ivory, we must not, in good moral consciousness, allow it to be sold at all.

A grassroots group has come together across the county and we are calling for a complete ban on all ivory commerce in the United States.  We can not imagine a world without elephants.  We want future generations to continue to learn that “E” is for “Elephant” NOT “Extinction.”

We have launched a "We the People" White House petition.  We are calling on all American's to execute their 1st Amendment Right to petition and sign TODAY to unequivocally ban the US ivory trade.  We need 100,000 signatures by May 30 to receive an official White House response.   If we succeed, it will send the strong and urgent message to the President and to our congressional leaders that - WE THE PEOPLE - want to end our part in the bloody, morally bankrupt trade of ivory, that we must put this trade to the history books forever.

Please SIGN and SHARE the petition TODAY:

If for nothing else, consider this: the White House petition to deport Justin Bieber got 274,000 signatures in 30 days.  Can we now do at least 100,000 for elephants?
