Firms that utilize Big Data in a Big way are some of the best-known organizations that are discussed on a daily basis — Facebook, Google, Twitter and LinkedIn. Social media has taken the world by storm, as both individuals and organizations have seized the momentum and ability to connect with others that are inherent within the various platforms. Obviously, large retailers and logistics firms like Wal-Mart, Amazon, UPS, and FedEx have been huge users of Big Data to streamline operations, improve customer response time, and improve the overall efficiency of business operations.
