The past year has seen student triumphs, changes to curriculum and turnover in personnel in local schools. Here's some of the top school stories from 2013.

Zoeller Resigns As Westwood Regional Superintendent

Dr. Geoffrey Zoeller, the superintendent of Westwood Regional Schools, resigned from his position effective April 25 via a letter to the school board. The board unanimously voted to accept his resignation at their meeting.

Pascack Valley High Dedicates Facilities to Former Teachers

The school held ribbon-cuttings for the Phil Goodyear Physics and Technology Center and the David Tedesco Graphics Engineering Laboratory.

Westwood Regional Marching Band Wins Competition

The band won first place and best music at the Bloomfield Marching Band Invitational.

Pascack Valley Schools Reveal New Hybrid Schedule

Class periods will be extended two days each week and students will have more opportunities to pursue individual projects.

School Board Appoints Cascone as New Westwood High Principal

The Westwood Regional Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Scott Cascone as the new principal of Westwood Regional High School.
