Westwood, Hillsdale Train Fares Rising in March

NJ Transit is raising the fares at some of its Pascack Valley, Main and Bergen County line stations.

NJ Transit is raising the fares at 16 of its train stations March 1, according to an advisory posted on their website.

The increase will affect all rides from both the Westwood and Hillsdale train stations.

A single ride to Hoboken from Hillsdale or Westwood will cost $8.25 and a single ride to Penn Station will cost $9.25. A full fare chart is available on the NJ Transit website here.

The increase is coming because of a rate increase on Metro-North trains. The two lines have an agreement to keep fares consistent, though this has caused some stations on the Pascack Valley and Main/Bergen lines to have lower fares than on other NJ Transit lines, according to the advisory. Metro-North reimburses NJ Transit for the difference.
