Two gas stations in Washington Township were burglaried early Saturday morning, township police have reported.

Township Police Officer Saverio Fasciano was on patrol at 5 a.m. Saturday when saw a burglary had taken place at 5 Star Gas in the township, according to police. Fasciano notified headquarters. Detective Sgt. John Calamari and the Bergen County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene, according to police. Burglars took the gas station's start-up cash, police said.

Later that morning, at 8:34 a.m., Officer William Jackson discovered a burglary had taken place at the Getty Gas Station in the township, police said. He called headquarters and Calamari and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded. According to police, nothing was taken.

Calamari is investigating the incidents, police said.
