A car flipped over on Forest Avenue in Westwood. The driver had no serious injuries and residents found him crawling out the back window of the car. Police Chief Frank Regino said a rollover bar the man installed in the heavily-customized car probably saved his life.
"Santa", "Mrs. Claus," Council President Cindy Waneck and Mayor John Birkner led a countdown to switch on the tree and candle lights in Veterans' Memorial Park for the annual "Home For The Holidays." Thousands of residents from around the area came out for the event, which includes a parade through downtown Westwood.
Patch reader Joseph Abou-Daoud was the first person on the scene of this car fire in a downtown Westwood parking lot. He called the fire department and was nice enough to snap some photos for Patch.

The above photos are a selection of some of the best that ran on the Westwood-Hillsdale Patch this year. Two of them were submitted by readers. If you want to submit a photo, email the editor at Jim.Leggate@Patch.com.
