Occupy Bergen County held a protest in front of Bank of America in Westwood Saturday.

The group held the protest in front of the bank because they disagree with some of the company's business practices.

Protestors carried signs, chanted slogans and handed fliers to drivers stopped at traffic lights on Broadway.

Didn't see one local resident in the photos. Westwood is one of the great cities in NJ. Still not sure why anyone would want to "occupy" Westwood. Live here, absolutely! Protest? Think not!

As the article denotes it's a protest of the Bank of America, not westwood...(i dont particularly believe in either occupy personally)

The lobbying activities of Chase, Bank of America and other financial sector corporations gave working Americans a subprime meltdown, a recession and a host of other burdens while they got a bailout and huge profits. The Occupiers are patriots.

My you sure have drunk the kool-aid. The meltdown was thirty years in the making. Thanks to GOVERNMENT policies advocated by Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton (read up on the subject) and the complete failure of Fannie MAE and Freddie MAC to follow even mediocre banking practices as it relates to capital and liquidity. You should check the Records of Barry Frank and Christopher Dodd and see how cozy they were with these institutions until they failed (biggest cheerleaders when everyone in the Bush Administration was trying to rein them in) and speaking rein, you check out Franklin D. Raines, He was a former Clinton appointee that left OMB to become CEO of Fannie. He had a much checkered career there, including the falsifying of accounting information to boost his bonuses. But please do not let the facts get in the way of your passion...

I'm sure BOA will be altering all their policies first thing Monday.

They are certainly entitled to "protest" but I rather see them do so elsewhere.

What I don't understand is people being so obtuse as to still noy understand what the protests are about. After so many losing their homes. Banks bailed out but grandma is SOL.. Really? You have no idea?

This is not a patriotic thing. Even though the companies of this world are extremely greedy, and I agree with that, I do not support at any extent the people's idea of a government. The idea's that they would accept would be a communist government, which everyone is the same. Would they like that, and if you want it, go live in China. You'll see. You don't like it here, go somewhere else. We don't want dead weight in our country, where we actually have freedom. Some things in this nation are screwed up, and some are just how they have been. Why does occupy start to happen, when this is how our nation has been running for 200 years. For the past 200 years, we have had millionaires simply thinking they have all the power. Some of their idea's are good, but some are just plainly wrong, or biased for you to think one way.

Personally, I believe that everyone in this country has the right to speak their mind, and that is a good thing, and a right thing. Occupy is speaking their mind, and that is something, even though not patriotic, is something everyone has to accept. I respect their protesting to the fullest of extent.

One hundred plus years ago we had robber barons. Patriotic Americans spoke up and numerous egregious practices by corporations were curtailed to the benefit of the American people. Ongoing lobbying by the financial sector and multi-national corporations has intentionally undermined government functions designed to protect Americans from deceptive and fraudulent practices by greed driven corporations. The financial sector and multi-national corporations readily admit their commitment to increased profit and routinely sell their allegiance to whatever nation gives them the most favorable tax deal.

Can Rico laws be applied to these Occupy demonstrators, that is, force them to be something like 100 feet from the BOA building? It would be similar to those who demonstrate against facilities that kill baby humans.
