Military Bridge, Knitting Class and More Thursday

A look at what's going on today, Nov. 17

 
  1. The Westwood Library, 49 Park Ave., has several events scheduled for Thursday. Computer tutors are available from 10 a.m. to noon. Preschool Storytime is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. The Parent/Son Book Group, for boys in fourth through sixth grade, has a meeting set for 7 p.m. The group will discuss Heart of a Shepherd by Roseanne Parry.

  2. The Washington Township Library, 144 Woodfield Road, has a showing of the 1989 movie "Uncle Buck" scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. The movie stars John Candy, Macaulay Culkin and Jean Louisa Kelly.

  3. The Washington Elementary School PSO is hosting Military Bridge Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Washington Township Swim and Recreation Club, Ridgewood Boulevard North, Washington Township.

  4. Temple Beth Or, 56 Ridgewood Road, Washington Township, is offering a series of classes to the community called, "Why Wrap? Knitting Your Own Tallit Prayer Shawls." The next class is Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Participants can join at any time for a small materials fee.

  5. The Westwood Regional Board of Education has a meeting scheduled for Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Hurley Theater of Westwood Jr./Sr. High School, 701 Ridgewood Road, Washington Township. The Westwood Planning Board has a meeting scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. in the courtroom of the municipal complex, 101 Washington Ave. The last meeting, Nov. 3, was canceled.
