The National Weather Service announced a flood watch for Bergen County.
A winter storm expected to hit the Pascack Valley Wednesday afternoon may cause flooding.
The National Weather Service announced a flood watch in Bergen County starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday and lasting until Thursday morning.
The storm is expected to bring 1.5 to 2 inches of precipitation. Local water levels were still higher than normal following another storm last week and a light snow Monday night.
Gages used by the U.S. Geological Survey in the Pascack Brook showed that water was about 6 inches deeper Wednesday morning than before the storm last week.
The heaviest rain is expected to come Wednesday night. The storm will "likely cause flooding of roadways and properties adjacent some small streams," according to the NWS.
A wind advisory is also in place from 4 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday. Gusts could reach 50 miles per hour, according to the NWS.
